National Real Estate Convention Reveals Award Winning Numbers

null

The sixth annual Century 21 National Convention was held at Reserva Conchal’s elegant Convention Center on November 13th, 2004. It was here that Edgar Santamaría, head of Century 21 in Costa Rica, announced Century 21 Coastal Estates office in Playa Tamarindo to be First Place in Adjusted Gross Sales for 2004 with an impressive amount earned in the past year.

Santamaría made this proclamation as agents, brokers and associates from the country’s twenty Century 21 offices enjoyed an elaborate buffet and live band. The colleagues gathered together to celebrate their cumulative gross real estate sales in Costa Rica for 2004.

Yet this year’s numbers exceeded all of Viale’s expectations, as he admitted, “not only did we surpass our initial goal, but our sales made up 16% of Century 21’s national earnings.” In order to accommodate the increasing demand of the Gold Coast clientele, Viale has recently opened three new branches of Century 21 Coastal Estates in Playa Grande, Cañafistula and Playa Langosta.
Santamaría attributes Coastal Estates success to a professional management style, strong sales staff, and a great office location. After accepting the award on behalf of his office, Viale insisted that it is his “dream team’s fantastic collaborative spirit” combined with Century 21’s international brand support that is responsible for Coastal Estates’ consistent ranking as a leader in Costa Rican real estate.

One key member of the Century 21 Coastal Estates “dream team” is Mark Price, who was “elated” after he received the Second Place Sale’s Associate honor at the National Convention for total gross sales for Century 21 in Costa Rica.

Price, the broker for Coastal Estate’s new Cañafistula location, was also recognized that evening as the Third Place Sale’s Associate in number of total transactions.

The relevance of Price’s numbers is heightened by the fact that he only earned commissions from sales, not rentals, as opposed to the other competing agents. Mark does not “sell with smoke and mirrors,” but instead speaks freely when working with clients. Viale said, “He is a team player who is deeply appreciated by his colleagues.”

Century 21’s National Convention was timed perfectly to kick off the upcoming high season for the Costa Rican tourism and real estate industries. Santamaría informed attendees at the Convention that Century 21 Costa Rica is “working hard to become the leading presence in Costa Rican real estate.” Both he and Coastal Estates’ Viale plan to attend Century 21’s upcoming International Convention in Orlando, Florida. They both agree that these types of gatherings are a great resource for franchises to participate in specific seminars, network at meetings and, most importantly, to receive information from other real estate colleagues that will help anticipate the future in real estate.

Forbes Magazine names Tamarindo ‘Costa Rica’s most popular beach’ (The Guanacaste Journal - May, 2008)

(Infocom) — An article appearing in the prestigious Forbes Magazine has designated Tamarindo “Costa Rica’s most popular beach,” according to an article written by travel chronicler Pierre Lehu.

The story, published last Feb. 22, lists several Costa Rican attractions for mountain and beach tourism, particularly in the Guanacaste region.

Lehu wrote that Guanacaste’s beach stand out, among other reasons, because they offer great conditions for practicing sports such as surfing and have better facilities, including transportation.

Among Costa Rica’s advantages, the Forbes article highlights its high degree of literacy, the diversity of places to visit and the warmth of the local population. In general, the story raves about the beauty of Guanacaste’s beaches and the friendliness of the residents.

Forbes Magazine is one of the most prestigious publications in the international financial world, with 900,000 copies in print every two weeks. It was founded in 1917 under the direction of editor-in-chief B. C. Forbes.

Lehu, the writer of “Off to Costa Rica,” constantly travels around the world to bring readers information about various destinations. He, the magazine says, is the author of more than a dozen books, including Sake: Water from Heaven.

In the past few months, several projects and infrastructure improvements have provided Tamarindo with more facilities, including the reestablishment of the beach’s lifeguard program and the paving of the town’s main access road — a project that is currently in its final phase.

Tamarindo has attracted a large number of investors and businesses in the past few years. The availability of goods and services has increased dramatically, including banks, restaurants, new hotels, law offices and many other businesses that have transformed this coastal town in an attractive destination for visitors, having there many amenities in a rural area with great scenic attributes.

Just as the The Guanacaste Journal has been reporting, in Tamarindo there have also been recent efforts to fight dengue fever, beach clean-ups and recycling projects, all part of public and private initiatives to offer and cleaner and safer place to visitors.
