Playa Junquillal Real Estate

Playa Junquillal (pronounced "hoon-kee-al") is a long, windswept beach that, for most of its length, is backed by grasslands. This gives it a very different feel from other beaches on this coast. The village has a few amenities; bars, restaurants and accommodations.If you're looking to leave the crowds behind and want some unfettered time on a nearly deserted beach, this is a great choice. The long stretch of sand is great for strolling, and the sunsets are superb. When the waves are up and the sea is rough, this beach can be a little dangerous for swimming. When it's calm, jump right on in.

Playa Junquillal is situated 30 km west of Santa Cruz and 20 km south of Tamarindo.

If you're a surfer, the beach break right in Junquillal is sometimes pretty good. I've also heard that if you look hard enough, there are a few hidden reef and point breaks around.

Playa Junquillal is an up-and-coming area. The road from 27th of April to Paraiso (which is just 4 kms before Junquillal) will soon be paved, also paving the way for growth to the area.
